Mike Stakenas

After a short absence, Michael Stakenas returned to the WMFA Board of Directors to fill a vacancy in mid-2021 and then elected for a three year term at the Fall Annual Meeting. Mike or sometimes called A.J., brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Association. A life- long resident, a graduate of MCC and then completing his formal education, received a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science from Grand Valley State University. Mike was a 4-H member until his early teens, selling young beef and sheep. His two children followed in his footsteps marketing swine, Jr. Beef and steers.

Employed at Howmet Aerospace since 1999 in information technology, Mike is now the Manufacturing Infrastructure Lead. In his spare time he especially enjoys hunting, automobiles, farming (raising crops and beef cattle) and working with new technologies.

Mike serves as the 1st. V.P. with a position on the Buildings and Grounds Committee. He is very interested in giving back to the community and promoting agriculture and it is a good fit with he and his family’s agricultural background. He looks forward to joining the Entertainment & Events Committee to help bring a new perspective. (Term expires 2024)
